Warning: The originals photos, texts, films, music, etc ... of the period previous to 1921 year -see the Act of the US Congress about it - have no copyright and belong to the public domain. However, those same pictures, I process this blog, when I restore and paint the pictures, then the right of modification is produced, ie that are protected by full copyright law, in this case mine. Of course there are many more laws in the world, declared in the public domain photographs (which is the topic at hand), in very later dates to the aforementioned (Example: WWII, Korea, etc ...) .

U.S. Simplex Armored Car M1915 of the New York National Guard (NYNG).

Summer maneuvers in the Military Camp of Plattsburgh NY. August-September 1915

During the morning of August 7, 1915, leaving the city of New York a military column formed by about a thousand men and their mules loaded with the baggage of the troops. They were heading towards the northern tip of the state, to the Military Camp of Plattsburgh, 400 miles north of New York City. Fifteen motor vehicle completed the column. Among these vehicles were four armored cars. Two of them were built on truck chassis, a Mack and probably a White. The third, a supply truck also of the brand Mack was provided with a shield of circumstances. The fourth was performed on the chassis of a passengers vehicle, a Simplex Toy Tonneau, 1913, and this is the one I present the picture of the post. He was armed with a 7.62-mm ( Hotchkiss ) Benet-Mercie Machine Rifle M1909 (* ) with armored shield, placed in the back of the armored car. Obviously this column and their respective vehicles belonged to the National Guard of the State of New York (NYNG).
