Warning: The originals photos, texts, films, music, etc ... of the period previous to 1921 year -see the Act of the US Congress about it - have no copyright and belong to the public domain. However, those same pictures, I process this blog, when I restore and paint the pictures, then the right of modification is produced, ie that are protected by full copyright law, in this case mine. Of course there are many more laws in the world, declared in the public domain photographs (which is the topic at hand), in very later dates to the aforementioned (Example: WWII, Korea, etc ...) .

Renault Armored Car (Factory Model). Captured by the Germans, France, 1914 (WWI).

French Renault Armored Truck, 1914 Model. Captured by the Germans

The Renault Armored Truck was manufactured in 1914 during the first months of the Great War. It was a special project of House Renault, who designed and built on its own, this little known armored car model. Apparently many copies were made (*). There are photographs of the vehicle being used by the French troops. There is also a photograph of another vehicle, captured by the Germans, with normal slick tires (that of this photo takes pneumatics type Ducasble).

This vehicle is missing the front shield, which consisted of a rectangular steel plate slightly curved profile. This was in front of the engine hood tilt. In the picture we can see the hooks for armor plate. The original models armed with a machine gun (probably St. Étienne M1907 8-mm) placed on a pedestal in the center of the rear of the vehicle.

Camión Blindado Francés Renault. Modelo 1914.
